Job Description:
Position Summary: The Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Specialist is responsible for implementing, maintaining, and continuously improving environmental, health, and safety programs. This role ensures compliance with applicable OSHA, EPA, and company requirements while promoting a proactive safety culture across operations. Key Responsibilities: Regulatory Compliance and Program Management Ensures compliance with applicable federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations (OSHA, EPA) Supports the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of EHS policies, programs, and procedures Maintains required environmental permits, records, and documentation Assists in regulatory reporting and inspections Hazard Identification & Risk Management Conducts job hazard analyses (JHA/JSA) and risk assessments Identifies workplace hazards and implements corrective and preventive actions Evaluates effectiveness of controls and recommends improvements to reduce risk Audits, Inspections & Compliance Assurance Conducts routine EHS audits, inspections, and compliance assessments Tracks, documents, and follows up on corrective actions Monitors contractor and vendor compliance Environmental Management Manages and tracks hazardous materials, chemicals, and waste Supports spill prevention and environmental protection programs Assists with sustainability initiatives and waste minimization Training & Safety Culture Delivers and coordinates EHS training programs Promotes a proactive safety culture Provides guidance on safe work practices and regulatory requirements Incident Reporting & Continuous Improvement Supports reporting and analysis of incidents and near misses Participates in root cause analysis and corrective actions Tracks and reports key performance indicators (KPIs) Contributes to continuous improvement of EHS programs Other duties as assigned Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED Working knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations Familiarity with hazard analysis and risk assessment Strong organizational and communication skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain records Preferred Qualifications Associate's or Bachelor's degree 2-5 years of EHS or related experience Experience in industrial or manufacturing environments OSHA 30-hour certification (required within 90 days if not already obtained) ASP, CSP, or similar credentials Additional Requirements Valid driver's license Physical ability to: Lift, balance, and carry a minimum of 50 lbs. Ability to work in industrial and office environments Work in harsh environmental conditions (extreme heat and cold) Passport or work authorization to work in the US Working Conditions Work schedule Monday through Friday 7 am - 4 pm EST, overtime and weekends based on business needs
