Controller About the Role The Controller is a key member of the finance leadership team, reporting directly to the CFO. This role oversees day-to-day accounting operations while ensuring the organization's financial reporting, compliance, and internal controls remain strong and effective. The ideal candidate brings both technical expertise and a strategic mindset - someone who can manage the details while also contributing to high-level financial planning and decision-making. What You'll Be Responsible For Oversee all core accounting functions, including general ledger, financial reporting, payroll, accounts payable, and grants accounting. Direct and manage the month-end and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting. Maintain compliance with GAAP and applicable FASB standards, ensuring policies and procedures align with best practices. Coordinate and lead the annual audit process, serving as the primary liaison for external auditors and preparing required financial statements and schedules. Ensure timely preparation and submission of tax filings and regulatory reports. Monitor cash flow, treasury activity, and financial forecasts to support organizational planning. Strengthen and continuously improve internal controls and accounting workflows. Develop and deliver financial reports and analysis for senior leadership, board members, lenders, and other stakeholders. Foster strong partnerships with external financial institutions, auditors, and advisors. Lead, mentor, and develop accounting staff to promote accountability and professional growth. Support cross-functional initiatives and contribute to broader financial strategy and operational goals. Perform additional duties as needed to support the finance function. What You Bring to the Table 5+ years of progressive accounting experience within a complex organization. Demonstrated leadership experience managing and developing teams. Strong technical accounting knowledge and financial reporting expertise. Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with ERP systems and reporting tools preferred. Excellent analytical skills with the ability to translate financial data into clear, actionable insights. A proactive approach to identifying inefficiencies and implementing process improvements. Education & Certifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required. CPA and/or Master's degree strongly preferred. #INMAR2026 EB-8490814631
