Senior Administrative Assistant

About the Job POSITION SUMMARYFull-time medical front desk and billing role in a clinical healthcare setting This position is intended for candidates with prior healthcare office and insurance billing experience Applicants without medical office or insurance billing experience will not be considered SCHEDULE & STATUSFull-time position, 28-40 hours per week Monday to Thursday initially Friday hours may be added with experience and performance COMPENSATION$15 to $20 - Pay scale commensurate with experience PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIESPerform front desk and medical billing duties in a healthcare clinic Schedule new and returning patient appointments using appropriate appointment types Coordinate patient care between EmoLogic Clinic and referring offices Obtain insurance benefit and eligibility information Complete pre-certifications and authorizations as required Process Medicare billing and billing for other health insurance plans Ensure accurate and timely data entry for patient and insurance records Communicate professionally with physicians, patients, and referring offices Maintain compliance with HIPAA, insurance regulations, and office policies Participate in staff trainings and meetings Review daily summary reports and internal communications Adhere to all federal, state, and office regulations REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSMinimum 1-2 years of experience in a medical office, healthcare billing, or similar healthcare setting Hands-on experience with Medicare billing processes Experience scheduling patients in a clinical environment Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel Strong attention to detail and ability to concentrate Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Strong interpersonal and professional communication skills Knowledge of HIPAA privacy and security requirements PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS2-3 years of experience in a related healthcare field Experience billing other health insurance plans Familiarity with EHR or medical practice management systems EDUCATIONHigh School diploma or GED preferred APPLICATION QUESTION (REQUIRED)Please briefly describe your experience with Medicare billing, including years of experience and specific responsibilities handled.
