As an Executive Chef, you are the key ingredient in delivering fresh, healthy food to students nationwide. Your primary responsibility will be to create, plan, and execute delicious, from-scratch weekly menus in collaboration with our clients and management team. Maintain the highest standards of kitchen sanitation, oversee food preparation, and ensure excellent communication with management and customers. What We Offer: Minimal late nights and weekend hours Time off for most holidays Paid vacations Competitive 401K with company match Health, dental, vision, and pet insurance Duties and Responsibilities: Prepare and design weekly menus Conduct menu meetings with chapters Create high-quality meals focusing on presentation and flavor Regularly send photos of meal presentations to management Maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen and dining space Wash utensils, equipment, and dishes as needed Ensure timely kitchen operations Oversee and train kitchen staff, manage their schedules, and evaluate performance Order supplies while adhering to budget guidelines and managing stock inventory Enforce sanitation and food safety standards mandated by local regulations Uphold a professional and positive demeanor with coworkers and customers Assist in planning and executing special events as needed Communicate regularly with management through various means Ensure compliance with company policies among staff Skills and Abilities Required: Ability to collaborate effectively as part of a team Proficient in following oral and written instructions Handle challenging customers with professionalism Demonstrated knowledge of various cooking methods, cuisines, and procedures Commitment to maintaining a professional appearance and attitude Strong record of managing kitchen operations and staff Ability to remain composed in emergency situations and provide effective solutions Familiarity with best practices in the culinary industry Preferred Education and Experience: 3+ years of experience in high-volume food production or catering, or relevant education Ability to pass a background check Culinary degree is a plus Valid manager-level sanitation certification or willingness to obtain one within 30 days of employment Special Demands: Work environment may be loud and fast-paced; potential hazards include hot surfaces and liquids, sharp utensils, and slippery floors Capability to work in varying temperature conditions within a kitchen Must be able to stand for long durations, up to 8+ hours, and perform bending and lifting tasks Ability to lift and/or move objects weighing up to 50 pounds Exposure to cleaning chemicals may occur Upper Crust Food Service is an equal opportunity employer.
