Job Description:
The City of Bowie is seeking two qualified individuals to join our Engineering Division in the capacity of Street and Stormwater Drain Inspector. The individuals in this role will conduct inspections of City infrastructure projects to ensure compliance with City codes, ordinances, and safety standards. Focused on streets, storm drains, and sediment control, the incumbents maintain quality control for new developments, strictly enforcing conditions within permits, annexation, and developer agreements such as tree preservation, street lighting systems, signage, and stormwater management systems. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: * Valid driver's license with a safe driving record. * High school diploma or GED. * Two years of experience in stormwater management, environmental management, sediment control or closely related experience. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: * Associate's degree or higher in environmental science or watershed science, environmental resources, civil engineering, biology, or a related field.
