Administrative Specialist II - State's Attorney Traffic Division Starting Pay Rate: $19.5350 - $21.4256 per hour Location: Bloomington, IL Basic Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 am-4:30 pm What You'll Do Under general supervision, you'll perform a variety of advanced administrative and clerical duties that require strong judgment, organization, and problem-solving skills. Primary responsibilities include: * Preparing, formatting, and proofreading legal documents and court filings. * Maintaining accurate records in electronic and paper filing systems. * Managing calendars, scheduling appointments and court dates. * Answering public inquiries in person, by phone, and through written correspondence. * Assisting with data entry, billing, payroll processing, and ordering supplies. * Supporting attorneys and staff with correspondence and internal workflow. * Taking meeting minutes and transcribing recorded notes as needed. * Providing occasional guidance or oversight on special projects. What You'll Need Education & Experience: * High school diploma or GED required. * 2-3 years of related administrative, legal, or customer service experience. * Coursework or training in business, office procedures, or legal administration a plus. Skills & Abilities: * Strong written and verbal communication skills. * Ability to manage confidential information with discretion. * Familiarity with Microsoft Office and ability to learn specialized software. * Attention to detail and excellent proofreading skills. * Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and meet deadlines. * Comfort working both independently and collaboratively. Work Environment This is a full-time position based in an office environment within the McLean County Law & Justice Center. Standard business hours apply, with occasional flexibility required to meet deadlines or assist with court schedules. Work may include sitting for extended periods, using computers and office equipment, and lifting light materials.
