Title: HR GeneralistCompensation: $27 - $32 an hour (non-exempt)Location: Blaine, MN (hybrid)About the Job:Lakeside HR Group has been engaged by our client to recruit for an HR Generalist to join their team. Our client is a well-established, mission-driven organization operating in a fast-paced, regulated environment with a strong focus on operational excellence and employee experience.This role is responsible for the day-to-day management of key HR functions including payroll, benefits administration, onboarding, compliance, and employee relations. The HR Generalist plays a hands-on role in supporting employees, ensuring HR processes operate smoothly, and continuously improving systems and practices.Key Responsibilities:PayrollManage bi-weekly payroll processing with accuracy and timelinessDistribute payroll documents (pay stubs, W-2s, 1095-Cs, etc.)Support quarter-end and year-end payroll activitiesOnboarding & OffboardingOwn the full onboarding experience from pre-hire through orientationCoordinate background checks, E-Verify, drug screens, DOT physicals, and related requirementsConduct new hire orientations and ensure completion of onboarding paperworkCoordinate offboarding activities in accordance with established proceduresBenefits AdministrationServe as the primary contact for employee benefits questions and vendor coordinationProcess new hire benefit enrollments and support open enrollmentPerform monthly benefits billing reconciliationAssist employees with HRIS navigation related to benefitsEmployee RelationsRespond to day-to-day HR inquiries related to payroll, benefits, HRIS, and timekeepingSupport investigations, disciplinary actions, and employee relations mattersBuild strong relationships and trust with employees at all levelsFacilitate employee engagement initiatives and stay interviewsAdminister leaves of absence and coordinate with payroll and benefitsAdministrative & ComplianceRespond to unemployment claimsAssist with 401(k) compliance, audits, and reportingMaintain accurate and confidential employee recordsComplete EEOC and ACA reportingAssist with handbook updates and policy draftingMonitor labor law compliance and required postingsGenerate HR reports and conduct internal auditsTechnology & TrainingAssist with HRIS optimization and end-user trainingSupport training initiatives as neededRequired Skills & Qualifications:Associate's degree required; Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, or related field preferred2-4 years of progressive HR experience across multiple functional areasWorking knowledge of federal and state employment laws (FLSA, FMLA, ADA, EEO)Experience with HRIS and payroll systems (UKG Ready preferred)Strong communication, organization, and confidentiality skillsProfessional HR certification (SHRM-CP/SCP, PHR/SPHR) strongly preferredBenefits:Health, dental, and vision insuranceHSA employer contributionsCompany-paid life insurance and short-term disabilityPaid parental leave401(k) with employer matchPTO, ESST, and paid holidaysEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)Voluntary benefits optionsAbout Lakeside HR Group:At Lakeside HR Group, we understand that finding the right job is essential for your career success.
