Job Description:
We are looking for a highly motivated Ultrasound Technologist to join our ever growing team here at Bingham. Call to discuss scheduling options. JOB REQUIREMENTS Minimum Education: Graduate of or eligible to graduate from a recognized, approved AMA program. Associate or bachelor's degree preferred. Required Licenses / Certifications: Perferred registry by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT). Requried registry by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or eligible with ARDMS registry pending. BCLS required. Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: * Clinical Knowledge: Strong understanding of human anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology. * Technical Proficiency: * Expertise in operating ultrasound equipment, including transducers specific to various examinations. * Familiarity with supplementary ultrasound tools and technologies. * Imaging Skills: Ability to manipulate equipment to produce diagnostic-quality images for interpretation by a Radiologist or healthcare provider. * Patient Assessment: Capable of evaluating patient condition during procedures and notifying the Radiologist or provider of any concerns. * Computer Skills: Basic proficiency in computer use, including electronic health records and imaging software. * Training and Competency Requirements: * Required to complete and document training on any new equipment introduced to the department . * Participation in annual competency assessments is mandatory to ensure continued proficiency and compliance with departmental standards. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS * Perform Diagnostic Ultrasound Examinations: Conduct a variety of ultrasound procedures in accordance with established protocols and physician orders. * Ensure Image Quality: Produce high-quality images that meet diagnostic standards and assist in accurate interpretation by the Radiologist or provider. * Maintain Patient Safety and Comfort: Prepare and position patients appropriately, ensuring their physical and emotional comfort throughout the procedure. * Communicate Effectively: Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide timely and accurate diagnostic information. * Document Procedures: Accurately record patient information, procedure details, and findings in the electronic medical record system. * Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine checks and maintenance on ultrasound equipment; report malfunctions or issues promptly. * Adhere to Safety and Infection Control Standards: Follow departmental policies and procedures to maintain a safe and sterile environment. * Participate in Quality Improvement: Engage in departmental initiatives aimed at improving service quality, patient outcomes, and workflow efficiency. * Support Training and Education: Assist in onboarding and mentoring new staff or students as needed; stay current with continuing education and departmental updates.
