These are registry positions with our company. $100 Sign-On BonusPay Rate: $55 / hour*W2Shift details: M-F 8:00AM-4:30PM OMH Dental Hygienist Position SummaryThe Dental Hygienist provides dental hygiene services in support of comprehensive oralhealth care within a state-operated mental health facility. Incumbents perform preventiveand therapeutic dental hygiene procedures and work collaboratively with dentists andinterdisciplinary treatment staff to promote oral health and support overall patientwellness. Duties DescriptionDuties may include, but are not limited to:• Performing prophylaxis, scaling, root planing, and other dental hygieneprocedures in accordance with New York State licensure (Section 6606 of theNYS Education Law) and professional standards under the direct supervision ofa licensed dentist• Conducting oral health assessments and documenting clinical findings inpatient records.• Taking intraoral radiographs and panoramic films.• Providing oral hygiene instruction and preventive education to individualsreceiving services.• Assisting dentists during examinations and treatment procedures asneeded.• Preparing and maintaining treatment rooms, instruments, and dentalequipment.• Maintaining infection control and sterilization standards in accordancewith facility policy and regulatory requirements (in compliance with OSHAstandards).• Entering accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record.• Monitoring and maintaining dental supplies and assisting with inventorycontrol.• Participating in quality assurance, safety initiatives, and programdevelopment activities.• Collaborating with medical, nursing, clinical, and allied health staff tosupport continuity of care. Minimum Qualifications• Licensure and current registration as a Dental Hygienist in New York State.• Graduation from a dental hygiene program accredited by the Commission onDental Accreditation (CODA).• Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR.Preferred Qualifications• Experience providing dental hygiene services in public health, hospital, orinstitutional settings.• Experience working with individuals with mental illness, developmentaldisabilities, or complex medical conditions.• Strong written and verbal communication skills.• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary treatment team. Hours:We are looking for a full-time 40- hour a week candidate, 8AM-4:30PM Monday throughFriday, excluding observed state holidays. However, we would be willing to consider parttime candidates who can work within these hours if no suitable full-time candidates areavailable. Work EnvironmentThis position is located within a state-operated psychiatric facility and requires the abilityto provide dental hygiene care to individuals with varying levels of behavioral, psychiatric,and medical complexity. The position emphasizes patient-centered care, safety,professionalism, and adherence to OMH policies and procedures.Operational Needs• Ability to work in a clinical environment serving individuals with mentalhealth diagnoses.• Ability to follow infection control and safety protocols.• Ability to communicate effectively with patients, staff, and interdisciplinarytreatment teams. Infection Control Requirements:• ? TB Testing:o ? All prospective HCP are required to complete a two-step TB Skin Test(unless previously tested positive). You must submit documentation.o ? If you previously tested positive on a TB Skin test: You must providedocumentation, from your primary care provider, stating a history of apositive TB Skin test result and if treatment was needed/completed. You willalso need to provide a negative chest x-ray or a negative QuantiFERON goldtest.• ? Immunizations/Antibody Titers: You will need to provide documentation ofvaccine administration, or titers, for Hepatitis B, Measles, Rubella, Varicella andMumps or titers.• ? Seasonal Influenza Vaccination: If it is influenza season, approximatelySeptember-May, please provide proof of immunization. Please be aware if youdecline to receive the influenza vaccine you will be required to wear a surgical maskat all times.
