The ideal candidate brings strong experience in pipe fabrication, welding standards, and quality systems.Key ResponsibilitiesQuality Control LeadershipDevelop, implement, and maintain QC/QA standards aligned with ISO 9001:2015, ASME, and project specificationsOversee inspections of fabrication processes, equipment, and work environmentsEnsure compliance with industry codes, regulations, and client requirementsPrepare inspection reports and recommend corrective actionsFabrication Quality OversightPerform and document in-process inspections for piping, plumbing, and sheet metal fabricationVerify fabricated products meet engineering drawings and specificationsMaintain quality records and prepare project turnover documentationWelding and NDE ManagementCertify welders and welding procedures in accordance with applicable codesMaintain welder continuity logsCoordinate and schedule Non-Destructive Examination (NDE) testingData Analysis and Continuous ImprovementAnalyze quality metrics, trends, and KPIsConduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventative actionsLead initiatives to improve fabrication quality and operational efficiencyEstimating and Project SupportReview RFQs and support estimating teams with quality requirementsAssist with labor forecasting and cost analysis for fabrication projectsCross-Functional CollaborationPartner with engineering, estimating, and fabrication teams to resolve quality issuesSupport fabrication strategy development and process improvementsTraining and DevelopmentTrain and mentor QC personnel and fabrication staffPromote a culture of quality, safety, and continuous improvementRequired Qualifications3+ years of quality control experience in pipe fabrication, industrial/process piping, or mechanical subcontractingFabrication shop experienceAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings and specificationsKnowledge of pipe fabrication methods, materials, and B31 piping standardsExperience supporting estimating or cost analysis for fabrication workStrong analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skillsAbility to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environmentPreferred QualificationsQuality control leadership or management experienceCertified Welding Inspector (CWI) certificationASNT Level II certification in ASME B31 pipingExperience implementing or maintaining ISO 9001 standardsExperience with KPI-driven estimating and performance metricsAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office SuiteWhy This Role Stands OutCompetitive salary with bonus potentialHigh-impact leadership role within fabrication operationsOpportunity to drive quality systems and process improvementsWork with a well-established and growth-focused organizationWhy Work with Wheeler Staffing PartnersWheeler Staffing Partners connects skilled professionals with leading organizations across the United States.
