Job Description:
The Expediter/Food Runner is responsible for working with the expo to assure prompt delivery of the food that is ready in the “hot” and “cold” windows in the kitchen. The Expediter/Food Runner is responsible for delivery to the tables in The Lake House. The Expediter/Food Runner and expo work both together and independently to assure that every plate looks correct and to deliver hot/cold food in a timely manner to the guests in all outlets. The Expediter/Food Runner together with the service staff is responsible for bringing any additional items the guests need to complete their meal. The Expediter/Food Runner will assist to maintain the AAA Four Diamond Standards. They will always conduct themselves in a manner which supports the Core Values of Sunriver Resort: Trust, Open & Honest Communication, and Commitment. He/She/They shall strive to deliver exceptional service to all internal and external guests at all times. In this role, they are responsible for exemplifying the Sunriver Resort Culture and actively supporting our Vision and Mission to be the destination of choice for our guests, owners, and associates.Checks each plate of food to be correct as ordered by the guestMakes sure all condiments are accompanying each orderAssures that every item on the order is ready and on the tray togetherWorks diligently to avoid breakage and loss Notifies server of guest needs Completes all opening, on-going and closing side work and manager on duty as signed off on workStocks/restocks appropriate linens for serviceStocks/restocks work stations with appropriate plates and saucers, etcInforms server of any potential guest issuesProvides general resort information for guestsOffers warm and sincere welcome/farewell for all guests of Sunriver Resort including use of guest name & good eye contact with each guestMaintains an up to date working knowledge of all resort amenities as well as any special eventsInteracts with resort staff in a professional manner, assisting other departments with necessary informationUp sells other resort services and amenities to guestsFamiliarizes him/herself with all menusAttends mandatory monthly department meetings and appropriate resort and division meetingsAnswers questions and/or makes recommendations on menu itemsPerforms food preparation duties such as bread & butter set-ups, condiment preparation, and any other prep as needed Assures that the beverage Ice bins remain full for service staffEXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:High school education required Prior food and beverage experience preferredAt least six months customer service experience preferredJOB REQUIRMENTS:Must be at least 16 years of ageMust have or be able to obtain prior to start date a valid Oregon Food Handler’s permitAbility to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings, weekends and holidaysMust have the ability to deal effectively and interact well with the guests and associatesWORKING CONDITIONS:Must be able to stand and walk throughout the shift Must be able to frequently lift and carry up to 25 lbs at shoulder height; and occasionally lift and carry up to 50 lbs.Must be able to occasionally push/pull up to 75 lbs Must be able to perform simple grasping, fine manipulation, overhead reaching, and repetitive hand & arm movements frequently; and squeezing occasionally
