Shipping/Receiving Operator Bedford, PA 1st shift: 7am - 3pm (M-F) PURPOSE OF THE POSITION: Acts as an operator within a warehouse: Receiving, tracking materials, inventorying stock, pulling, picking, and shipping orders. KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE: * High school diploma or general equivalent diploma * Valid Driver's License * Does not require vocational training nor a university degree. * Works with clearly defined methods and tasks that are described in detail. * Has limited prior relevant training or work experience. * Contributes directly to specific unskilled tasks or processes. * Has limited discretion to vary from established procedures. * Contributes indirectly to specific unskilled tasks or processes. * Has no discretion to vary from established procedures. KEY JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES: * Administers and operates the organization's warehouses, including processing, packaging and storage of supplies, materials and equipment. * Accounts for all materials in the distribution center. * Performs receipt, storage and shipment of materials in accordance with established procedures. * Prepares and coordinates schedules for domestic shipping and receiving materials to control the flow of goods and regulate warehouse space. * Ensures the effectiveness of operating procedures, space utilization, and maintenance and protection of facilities and equipment. * Significant time operating electric / fuel-based forklifts loading / unloading trucks. * Perform transactions in the SAP / ERP system required to process material movements. * Responsible for maintaining and ensuring workplace organization programs (5S, EHS) are adhered to for the assigned area. * Performs operational or manual tasks, primarily in manufacturing, supply chain or operational environments. * Typically performs unskilled or semi-skilled work. * Works under close supervision with little autonomy.
