How you'll contribute A Respiratory Technician who excels in this role: * Assists respiratory therapists with preparing for and providing patient care. * Delivers routine therapy as delegated by a therapist. * Responds to codes and calls for emergent assistance. Assesses patient condition and delivers appropriate treatment. * Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition. * Educates the patient and family about the patient's illness and provides information about community support groups and other resources. * Monitors, receives, stocks, and distributes respiratory care supplies and medical gas cylinders. * Maintains storage areas with required supply levels and equipment. * Disassembles, cleans, and sterilizes equipment, and performs preventative maintenance and calibration of machines. What we're looking for * Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. * Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. * Completion of an accredited Respiratory Therapy Program Required; bachelor's degree Preferred * Current KY Respiratory License Required * Basic Life Support (BLS); Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) More about Raleigh General Hospital Raleigh General Hospital cares for nearly 13,000 patients each year and treats more than 50,000 patients in its emergency room.
