We provide innovative solutions to satisfy industry demand for specific structure strengths while understanding the need for sustainability and environmental consciousness. **Role Overview** The Laboratory Technician II is a developing technical contributor who performs laboratory testing and supports product development and customer-related activities with moderate supervision. This role applies established testing methods to generate reliable data that supports internal evaluations and customer needs, while continuing to expand technical knowledge and independence. The Laboratory Technician II conducts laboratory testing, prepares samples, operates and maintains laboratory equipment, and documents results in accordance with quality and safety standards. With growing familiarity in product technologies and cementitious chemistries, the employee contributes to troubleshooting, supports certified or customer-related testing as directed, and collaborates closely with team members to meet project objectives. **Key Duties and Responsibilities** + Supports R&D projects and customer-related activities under moderate supervision. + Performs testing independently using established methods, exercises judgment within defined procedures. + Must remain flexible as priorities and workload change daily. + Collaborates with scientists, engineers, and technicians on laboratory projects. + Participates in internal and external demonstrations and training as directed. + Prepares samples, conducts analyses, and documents results accurately. + Sets up, maintains, calibrates, and troubleshoots laboratory equipment. + Supports data analysis and technical reporting. + Maintains inventories of chemicals, laboratory supplies, and equipment. + May provide informal guidance to less experienced technicians. + Maintains good attendance and timely reporting to assigned work areas. + Follows all EHS policies and report unsafe conditions immediately. + Complies with ISO quality systems and laboratory procedures. **Education and Experience** Required: + Minimum of 2-year Associates degree in Engineering or Materials Science, or High School Diploma plus 2 years' relevant experience. + ACI Field Technician certification required (acceptable to be obtained within the first year of employment). Preferred + ACI Concrete Laboratory Testing Certification (required to be obtained within the first year of employment). **Skills and Knowledge** + Working knowledge of laboratory testing methods and QC procedures. + Experience operating and maintaining laboratory equipment. + Ability to troubleshoot routine testing or equipment issues. + Strong documentation, organization, and time management skills. + Good written and verbal communication skills. + Ability to work independently and as part of a team. **Travel** Business travel as needed including overnight travel - less than 10% **Work Environment** This job operates in a professional office environment. The role blends hands-on lab work with office-based data analysis within a cross-functional team. Work with analytical instrumentation requires strict attention to proper safety protocols.
