You'll be trained, supported, and given the opportunity to grow into a Legal Assistant or Paralegal role over time.The firm offers a collaborative, respectful environment where teamwork is valued and people genuinely enjoy working together.Benefits include:100% employer-paid health insurance for employees401(k) with 4% match after one yearPaid time off (vacation and sick leave)Monthly team lunches and a positive, professional cultureWhat You'll Be DoingThis is a document-intensive role that plays a critical part in supporting attorneys and paralegals, particularly in large, complex cases.You'll be responsible for:Scanning, renaming, and organizing documents (primarily received electronically) into the firm's document management systemManaging both digital and paper files, including proper filing, retention, and destructionLearning how to identify and correctly name various legal documentsBates stamping and preparing documents for production, depositions, and trialAssisting with printing, copying, binding, and assembling materials for hearings and depositionsLocating and retrieving documents quickly and accurately when neededProviding general administrative support to attorneys, paralegals, and front office as neededYou'll be handling thousands of documents, so organization and attention to detail are critical.Trial Support & TravelThis role may include occasional trial support, which can involve travel outside of Baton Rouge; this is not every year and there are no trials scheduled until 2027.During trials, you may:Help transport and organize large volumes of case materialsAssist in the courtroom with exhibits and document retrievalSupport attorneys with preparation for the next day's proceedings, including evening workWhat We're Looking ForWe're seeking someone who is:Extremely detail-oriented and organizedDependable, accountable, and consistent in their workFocused and able to minimize distractions in a professional environmentA true team player who is willing to jump in and help wherever neededAble to prioritize tasks and manage a high volume of work efficientlyComfortable with physical aspects of the role, including lifting file boxesComputer literate, with experience in Microsoft Office and Adobe (or willingness to learn)Legal experience is not required. Candidates from administrative, medical, or other professional office environments often do very well in this role if they are eager to learn and committed to growth.Work Environment & ExpectationsThis firm values professionalism, focus, and strong work ethic.
