Accounting Clerk

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join our team in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The ideal candidate will handle a variety of financial tasks, including accounts receivable and payable, while ensuring accuracy and efficiency in daily operations. This role is crucial in supporting the company's financial health by maintaining organized records and processing transactions promptly. Responsibilities: - Prepare and issue invoices and account statements to customers while maintaining accurate records of accounts receivable. - Record payments from customers, including cash, checks, and credit card transactions, ensuring timely posting. - Set up new customer profiles in the system and handle customer credit applications with precision. - Match purchase orders to invoices and input vendor invoices into the system accurately. - Reconcile vendor accounts by reviewing monthly statements and resolving discrepancies. - Create and update vendor profiles in the system to ensure proper documentation. - Maintain organized files for accounts receivable and payable to support financial audits. - Collaborate with the team to ensure adherence to company policies and procedures for financial transactions. - Assist with general accounting tasks as needed to support the department's operations. Requirements - Proficiency in accounts receivable and accounts payable processes. - Strong skills in account reconciliation and invoice processing. - Experience with data entry and maintaining accurate financial records. - Familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms. - Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel for financial tracking and reporting. - Ability to manage multiple tasks with attention to detail and accuracy. - Excellent organizational and communication skills. - Prior experience in a similar accounting or bookkeeping role preferred.
