Job Title: Detail Technician Department: Detail / Production Reports To: Production Manager / Shop Manager Employment Type: Full-Time Position Summary The Detail Technician plays a key role in the final presentation of repaired vehicles by ensuring each customer's vehicle is thoroughly cleaned, polished, and inspected before delivery. This position focuses on quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction by making every vehicle look its best. Key Responsibilities Vehicle Cleaning & Restoration: Wash, vacuum, and clean interior and exterior surfaces to a high standard. Finishing Work: Perform light polishing, buffing, and waxing as needed to remove minor imperfections and enhance finish quality. Interior Detailing: Clean upholstery, carpets, dashboards, consoles, windows, and trim using appropriate tools and chemicals. Exterior Detailing: Remove contaminants, apply protective treatments, and ensure paint surfaces are clean and glossy. Post-Repair Final Inspection: Check painted surfaces, trim, and repairs for dust, overspray, smudges, or imperfections; notify painter or manager if corrections are needed. Vehicle Prep for Delivery: Ensure vehicles are presentable, odor-free, and free of fingerprints or debris before customer pickup. Equipment & Chemical Handling: Safely use buffers, vacuums, pressure washers, and cleaning chemicals in accordance with shop guidelines. Documentation: Complete quality checklists and tag vehicles when work is finished. Shop Support: Assist with shop cleanliness, moving vehicles, and other tasks as needed to support production flow. Safety Compliance: Follow all OSHA, EPA, and shop safety rules, including PPE use and proper chemical storage.
