We see significant opportunity in our supplement business and seek a dynamic, experienced professional to help drive that growth. This individual will work with our teams to bring to market effective, innovative products our customers love and that help the business maximize revenue.The Director of Supplement Development will be responsible for leading our product development and commercialization strategies from concept through launch. You'll build partnerships with manufacturers and ingredient suppliers, and ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory guidelines.Responsibilities:Define and own our dietary supplement development strategy, aligning with company goals and market opportunitiesLead market research and competitive analysis to identify customer needs, market trends, and growth opportunitiesEvaluate, prioritize, and implement new product ideas, packaging innovations, and line extensionsPartner with Marketing to establish go-to-market plans, pricing, product positioning, and communication strategiesWork with our Legal department to establish and substantiate marketing claimsSet and manage production timelines, product launch schedules, and cross-functional deliverablesMaintain deep knowledge of industry trends, emerging technologies, and customer behavior to inform product strategyFormulate supplements, qualify ingredients, and create substantiation files to support product safety and efficacyReview and create Supplement/Nutrition Fact Panels in compliance with CFR FDA label guidelinesOversee ingredient screening, finished product testing, and stability protocolsInterpret scientific literature and prepare research reports that guide product claims and positioningCollaborate with ingredient suppliers to evaluate quality, negotiate price, and explore innovation opportunitiesBalance big-picture strategy with detail-oriented execution, ensuring speed-to-market without sacrificing compliance or effectivenessYou'll be a one-person show for now, but we anticipate building a team of product managers and support staff under your leadership as growth requiresQualifications: Bachelor's degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or related field requiredMaster's degree in Nutrition, Food Science, or related field preferredMinimum 3 years in dietary supplement product development, nutrition R&D, or related field (5+ years preferred)Proven ability to manage projects from concept to market launchExperience collaborating with cross-functional teams (Quality, Regulatory, Marketing, Legal, Fulfillment, Copy Team, Customer Service, Editorial)Expertise in pricing, planning, and financial analysisStrong foundation in product development, project management, and nutrition researchKnowledge of FDA and FTC compliance for dietary supplementsSkilled at turning scientific research and substantiated claims into clear, consumer-friendly marketing languageExceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skillsCompensation Range - $90,000 - $120,000 USDLocation(s) & Work Arrangement - Mt.
