Job Description:
Position Summary:The Title Examiner manages the end-to-end title insurance process, including examining title work, issuing commitments and policies, clearing underwriting requirements, and coordinating closings to ensure accurate and timely funding. This role serves as a primary liaison between builders, lenders, escrow offices, and internal teams while maintaining compliance with applicable regulations and underwriting guidelines. The position also supports reporting, audits, customer service follow-up, and cross-division title operations.This is a remote position; however, candidates must reside in the Greater Austin area.Responsibilities: Manage the full title process from contract tracking through post-closing, including examining title searches (or attorney opinions), issuing commitments, clearing underwriting conditions, and delivering final owner and lender policies. Order and review title searches, supporting documents, survey certifications, and final boundary surveys; identify and resolve property issues, liens, bonds, payoffs, and claims. Prepare and issue title commitments, closing protection letters (CPLs), premium invoices, notices of termination, and other required documentation in compliance with underwriting guidelines. Coordinate with builders, lenders, escrow and closing offices to track, close, and fund transactions; serve as the primary contact for assigned divisions. Track and reconcile settlement statements, wires/checks, policy logs, and required closing documentation to ensure accuracy and timely funding. Maintain accurate reports, logs, and monthly progress updates; ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations and internal guidelines. Support policy delivery, customer service follow-up, audits, and title claims, including cross-division processing for Texas, Colorado, Washington, and Arizona. Collaborate with teammates and senior management on all matters related to title issuance, premium collection, operational changes, and customer satisfaction metrics.Key Qualifications: Licensed (in applicable states) and minimum 5 years' experience in the field of title services. Strong organizational skills, ability to follow directions and adapt to changing environments, and the ability to work within a team. Must possess strong aptitude for numbers and excellent analytical skills. Must demonstrate strong computer skills related to Microsoft Word, Outlook/Email, Excel, and title applications and systems. SoftPro Select experience is a plus.
