Job SummaryThe Neuropsychologist provides psychological services to both inpatient and outpatient populations within a healthcare setting. This role involves assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to support patients with neuropsychological and related conditions.Key ResponsibilitiesClinical DutiesConduct initial assessments of newly admitted patients within established timeframes.Perform comprehensive evaluations of neuropsychological functioning, cognitive status, emotional health, and psychological history.Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings.Provide ongoing psychological interventions and monitor patient progress.Maintain accurate, timely documentation and billing in the electronic health record (EHR).Update treatment goals and progress notes in accordance with clinical standards.Reports directly to Psychology Department Supervisors and actively participates in departmental activities, committees, and organizational initiatives.Completes initial psychological and neuropsychological assessments of newly admitted patients within 72 hours of admission.Ensures timely completion of clinical documentation and billing in the electronic health record (EHR) on the day of service.Maintains accurate and timely documentation of patient progress and updated treatment goals in the medical record.Follows departmental policies and procedures, including scheduling, time-off requests, conference attendance, and daily attendance expectations.Maintains continuing education requirements and professional licensure in accordance with state and regulatory board standards.Collaboration & CommunicationWork closely with interdisciplinary teams to provide consultation and recommendations on biopsychosocial and behavioral concerns.Participate in team meetings and case conferences, offering insights on patient progress and treatment planning.Communicate effectively with healthcare professionals, patients, and families regarding care plans and outcomes.Education & TrainingEducate staff on neuropsychological, cognitive, emotional, and behavioral aspects of illness or injury.Provide supervision, mentorship, and training to junior staff, students, and trainees as needed.Professional PracticeAdhere to professional, ethical, and organizational standards of practice.Demonstrate awareness of scope of practice and seek consultation when appropriate.Maintain licensure and complete continuing education requirements.Follow organizational policies and procedures related to attendance, scheduling, and professional conduct.Leadership & Team ContributionContribute to effective team functioning by identifying and addressing barriers to collaboration.Support a culturally competent environment by addressing the needs of diverse patient populations.Assist in resolving conflicts and promoting positive team dynamics.Minimum QualificationsEducationABPP Board certified in Neuropsychology, Rehabilitation, Clinical, or Health Psychology, or meets the eligibility requirements for ABPP board certification.Fully licensed or license-eligible in the state of Georgia.BLS Certification Required.Licensure & CertificationLicensed or license-eligible as a Clinical Psychologist in the applicable jurisdiction.Board certification (or eligibility) in a relevant specialty area such as Neuropsychology, Rehabilitation, Clinical, or Health Psychology.Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (if required by the organization).ExperienceRelevant clinical training through an accredited internship program.SkillsExpertise in neuropsychological assessment and intervention.Strong understanding of clinical, ethical, and legal aspects of psychological practice.Effective communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills.Ability to meet competency and training requirements within established timelines.Preferred QualificationsCompletion of a two-year supervised postdoctoral fellowship in Neuropsychology.Advanced board certification in Clinical Neuropsychology or Rehabilitation Psychology.
