Position Information Classification Title Post-Doctoral Associate AD FLSA Exempt UGA Job Code FTE 1.00 Minimum Qualifications Position Summary Assist growers statewide in developing and implementing integrated pest and weed management strategies. Design and conduct field and laboratory experiments to evaluate integrated weed management practices and their effects on crop production. Develop and refine methods for plant physiology analysis to assess crop and weed responses to management practices. Analyze data and interpret results to identify sustainable approaches to pest and weed control. Prepare and present research findings at scientific meetings, extension events, and professional conferences. Publish research results in peer-reviewed journals and extension publications. Seek and develop new collaborative research opportunities related to integrated pest management and crop production systems. Relevant/Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification in Position PhD in weed science, strong quantitative data analysis and writing skills, strong publications record as evidenced by peer-reviewed manuscripts, independent work ethic, work well as part of a team, interest and experience mentoring students (graduate and undergraduate). Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies Ability to manage a large grant funded project including but not limited to research design, implementation, collection and analysis Physical Demands Driving and lifting 25-50 lbs Is this a Position of Trust?
