Position SummaryA well-established convenience retail organization is conducting a highly confidential search for a District Manager to oversee a multi-unit portfolio in the Western North Carolina region, including locations in and surrounding the Asheville market.This role provides end-to-end leadership for store operations, people development, and financial performance across assigned locations. Due to business sensitivity, company identity and detailed regional scope will be disclosed only during later interview stagesKey ResponsibilitiesMulti-Unit Operations LeadershipLead and support a designated group of convenience store locations within Western North CarolinaEnsure consistent execution of operational standards across fuel, foodservice, and retailConduct regular store visits to assess performance, compliance, and brand executionIdentify operational gaps and implement corrective actionsFinancial & Performance ManagementOwn district-level performance aligned to sales, margin, labor, and controllable expensesAnalyze KPIs and operational reports to drive continuous improvementPartner with regional leadership to execute performance recovery or growth initiativesPeople Leadership & Talent DevelopmentDirectly coach and develop Store Managers and multi-unit leadership talentDrive accountability for performance, engagement, and safetySupport hiring, onboarding, training, and succession planning across the districtAddress employee relations matters in partnership with HRCompliance, Safety & RiskEnsure compliance with all applicable safety, food, fuel, employment, and environmental regulationsPromote a strong culture of safety, integrity, and operational disciplineRespond to operational incidents or escalations as neededExecution & CollaborationExecute corporate initiatives while adapting to local market conditionsCollaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Facilities, HR, and Supply Chain partnersMaintain professionalism and discretion in all internal and external interactionsQualificationsRequired5-8+ years of multi-unit leadership experience in convenience retail, QSR, or high-volume retailDemonstrated success leading geographically dispersed locationsStrong understanding of store-level P&L driversProven ability to coach, develop, and hold leaders accountableValid driver's license and ability to travel frequently within the districtHigh level of discretion and professionalismPreferredExperience in fuel, foodservice, or 24/7 operating environmentsOversight of 10-25+ locationsBachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experienceWork EnvironmentField-based leadership role with significant travel throughout Western North CarolinaFlexible schedule required, including early mornings, evenings, and occasional weekendsRole may be based in or near Asheville, NC, though exact location is flexibleConfidentiality NoticeThis opportunity is part of a confidential business initiative Employer identity, reporting structure, and full scope will be disclosed later in the interview process.
