They will operate and maintain stationary boilers and mechanical equipment, perform preventive maintenance on boiler room equipment and related devices, perform other tasks as directed by the Chief Engineer, Manager or Director of Engineering and will answer and dispatch emergency calls as needed during off hours.Qualifications:Required:High School Diploma or equivalent Minimum of 3 years as a Power Plant Operating EngineerOral and written skills; computer literate with the ability to read operating and service manualsCertifications and Licenses Required:New Jersey Blue Seal SteamUST Class C Operator Training or completed within 6 months of hireScheduling Requirements:Full-Time, 12:00AM-8:00AMOn call every other weekend and holidaysEssential Functions:Ability to work independently and follow repairs through completionAble to use, maintain ATC/BMS systemsAccurately trouble shoots all equipment for repairsAssist in maintaining an accurate inventory and history on all boiler room equipmentAssist in maintaining compliance with Federal and State regulations including annual shut down, cleaning and inspection of boilersCollect data on Boilers, Water treatment, Water temperature and fuel consumptionCompletes required documentation for all work-performedDocumentation completed accurately and legiblyInspect equipment periodically to ensure that safety regulations are complied and efficient operation are maintainedMaintain an appropriate amount of stock material necessary for the continuation of all repairsMaintain daily record concerning the work that has been completedPerform emergency repairs on boiler equipment and related devicesRespond to temperature control problems in a manner consistent with staff and Patient Satisfaction guidelinesResponsible for the care of the Medical Center s tools and equipmentResponsible for the safety and cleanliness of the work areaEnters work into the work order systemOther Duties:Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.Duties, responsibilities and activities may change at any time with or without notice.Benefits and Perks:At RWJBarnabas Health, our employees are at the heart of everything we do.
