O&M Specialist - Aransas Pass, Texas

A part-time opportunity is available for a certified Orientation and Mobility Specialist to support students along the Southeast Texas Coast. This role involves providing specialized mobility training and orientation services to visually impaired students within multiple schools in the region, with specific assignments to be determined. Location: Aransas Pass, Texas Position Type: Contract Schedule: 16 hours per week (2 days per week, 8 hours per day) Duration: Immediate start through May 28, 2026 Caseload: Serving students across several schools-details to be finalized Age Group: School-aged students Key Responsibilities: Conduct orientation and mobility assessments tailored to each student's needs Develop and implement individualized mobility plans promoting independence and safety Collaborate with educators, therapists, and families to support student progress Maintain accurate records of student performance and progress Meet all district and state credentialing and compliance requirements Qualifications: Active Orientation and Mobility Specialist (OMS) certification AVCREP certification or equivalent Ability to complete Texas fingerprinting promptly if not already on file Strong communication and collaboration skills Experience working with school-aged children with visual impairments is preferred This role offers the chance to make a meaningful difference by enhancing the independence and confidence of students with visual impairments.
