Position Type: Community Ed - ECFE/Preschool/Early Childhood ScreenerDate Posted: 1/1/2026Location: ESC - Community Education - ECFEClosing Date: 12/31/2026Early Childhood Screeners - SubstitutesPart-Time - Casual hours as needed - up to 8 hours per shiftResponsibilities: Administer Health and/or Development screenings for the Early Childhood Screening Program for children ages 3-7.Discuss the general development of the child with parent(s), including providing resources to address health and parenting concerns.Perform a medical history pertinent to child development, including reviewing health history and immunizations.Assist in identifying children to be evaluated for special education programming.Refer families to community resources.Maintain records of screening.Screen children's hearing and vision as part of the state mandated early childhood screening plus referrals, as needed.Follow-up on health-related referrals.Other duties as assigned.Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood or closely related field. Good communication and organizational skills. Ability/desire to work cooperatively with department and district staff. Ability to maintain regular attendance, which includes completing an assigned day. Must be able to lift a minimum of 35 pounds. Ability to perform position responsibilities including physical factors, work devices and materials handling, data functions, and people functions. Must be physically working in the building.Preferred Qualifications: Teacher license in Early Childhood, Kindergarten, or Elementary Education or School Nurse.
