Lunch Custodian

Job Summary 3 hours per day position. Possibility of summer and/or additional hours. Help clean the kitchen and clean up the cafeteria. Job Description / Essential Elements: Lunch Custodian - Under the guidance of the Food Service Director, responsible for general cleaning and custodial functions predominately to the cafeteria and service kitchen. Examples of duties and responsibilities: May include but are not limited to: General janitorial and custodial functions in assigned locations. Prepares cafetorium. Washes tables or puts tables down in cafetorium for lunch and readies garbage cans. Helps with serving food if needed. As soon as children start to leave cafetorium, begin to wash and sanitize tables. Sweep floor, mop as needed. Empty and clean trash receptacles from kitchen and cafeteria area daily; sanitize weekly. Keep paper towl and soap dispensers full. Clean sink daily and cabinet faces, walls, and other equipment as needed. Pick up paper or debris and clean restrooms as directed. Operate cleaning equipment such as floor cleaner. Communicate with Food Service Director regarding needed supplies, materials, and equipment. Follow a deep cleaning schedule to keep the cafetorium and kitchen p to Health Department standards. Report safety, sanitary, and/or fire hazards to the Food Service or Maintenance Director. QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge of modern cleaning methods, materials, tools, and equipent. Safe us and operation of equipment and chemicals used in janitorial and custodial work. Safe work practices.
