Job Description The Manager of Quality and Food Safety plays a crucial role in shaping and enhancing the company's Quality, Food Safety, Sanitation, and Regulatory programs. This position is vital in ensuring that all production processes, from raw materials to finished products, consistently meet internal standards and regulatory requirements while creating a robust food safety culture. Key Responsibilities Lead the Quality & Food Safety team, overseeing daily operations, strategic initiatives, and talent development. Design, execute, and uphold food safety and quality policies, procedures, and programs. Act as the SQF Practitioner, PCQI, and HACCP Coordinator. Manage SQF certification processes and spearhead food safety and third-party audits. Serve as the main contact for regulatory and certification agencies (SQF, FSMA, GFCO, Kosher, GFFP, etc.). Develop, sustain, and perform annual validation of SQF and HACCP programs. Oversee environmental monitoring and laboratory testing initiatives (including Listeria, Salmonella, compressed air quality, microbial testing, etc.). Lead ongoing improvement initiatives and corrective actions across various departments. Collaborate with Production, Maintenance, Warehousing, Transportation, and NPD to integrate food safety into processes and equipment. Investigate customer complaints and ensure proper documentation and execution of corrective actions. Mentor and develop members of the Quality & Food Safety team. Support the commissioning, qualification, and verification (CQV) processes for new equipment, procedures, and products. Ensure compliance with FSMA, Organic, Kosher, Gluten-Free, and other pertinent regulatory programs. Qualifications At least 5 years of supervisory experience in Quality and Food Safety within the food manufacturing sector. In-depth knowledge of SQF, FSMA, HACCP, GMPs, and PCQI standards. Proven expertise in leading audits and navigating regulatory inspections. Demonstrated leadership and exceptional cross-functional communication skills.
