We are growing - and we're looking for a driven, relationship-focused Human Resources Recruiter Specialist to help us attract and retain the kind of talent that moves our mission forward. This is an on-site role, primarily based in our Amityville office, and it's built for someone who understands that recruiting is part strategy, part marketing, part relationship-building - and all about follow-through. What You'll Do You'll own the full recruitment lifecycle - from job posting to onboarding - and help shape how candidates experience Hope For Youth. Create and manage job postings across platforms - job boards, social media, our website, and recruiting events. Partner with program leaders to understand staffing needs and hiring priorities. Keep job descriptions accurate, compliant, and aligned with real operational demands. Screen candidates, coordinate interviews, and guide managers through structured, compliant hiring practices. Use applicant tracking systems and data to monitor progress and improve outcomes. Support offer processes, background checks, and onboarding logistics. Help new hires feel welcomed and connected from day one. Ensure recruiting practices align with employment laws and agency policy. Build community connections and talent pipelines that support long-term workforce growth. This role requires someone who is organized, proactive, and comfortable juggling multiple priorities. You need to be tech-savvy, process-minded, and confident communicating with managers, candidates, and community partners alike. Who You Are Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field preferred - or 1-2 years of recruiting in HR required. Knowledge of employment laws and compliant hiring practices. Strong communicator who can build trust and rapport quickly. Detail-oriented and organized - you track what others forget. Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Experience in nonprofit or social services is a plus. What Else You'll Need Reliable daily access to your own vehicle and a valid driver's license. Ability to work on-site and adjust schedule for job fairs or hiring events as needed. Physical Requirements This position includes prolonged computer use; repetitive hand and wrist movement; walking and standing at recruiting events; climbing stairs; bending, reaching, and carrying materials; and driving as part of work responsibilities.
