DescriptionSUMMARY The Daycare Attendant is passionate about working with kids and is responsible for the safety and well-being of children in the care of the Huckleberry Patch Daycare ranging in age from 1 year to 6 years. They communicate with and provide feedback to parents, supervisors, and staff regarding the activities of children being cared for. Provide input to improve the overall quality of services offered in the daycare. Organize creative activities, games and arts and crafts. Ensure health and safety standards outlined in the Wyoming Department of Family Services, Child Care Licensing Regulations. Take reservations and perform cashiering duties. Perform daily duties including but not limited to: feeding, sleeping/ resting/changing children. Cleaning all areas of the Huckleberry Patch Daycare facility. Must have good guest service skills and the ability to work with children and adults. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES including the following. Other duties may be assigned.Keep all daycare children safe by being responsible and diligent. Note daycare children behavior and actions, be able to convey those back to a supervisor and/ or parent.Create games, activities, crafts etc. to keep children entertained and learning. Dress and clean up children, make sure they have appropriate clothing for the activities they are performing.Clean the facility. Take reservations and perform cashiering duties. Create an environment that encourages exploration and learning that parents and children trust.Keep calm in moments of stress.Treat kids, parents, and staff with kindness and respect.Maintain age-appropriate communication with kids. Perform duties daily including but not limited to: feeding, changing of diapers, dressing and undressing children for skiing and/or outdoor play.Use positive reinforcement strategies with children.Monitor sleeping/resting children.Follow the dress code.Maintain professionalism in all situations.Complete all opening and closing procedures each day. RESPONSIBILITIES TO SAFETYProtect the safety of self, workers, and Grand Targhee Resort guests. Report any potentially harmful equipment or situations to the immediate supervisor without delay. Report safety-related accidents and incidents at once to immediate supervisor. Follow all company and department safety policies and procedures as outlined in the Resort's Occupational Safety & Health Compliance Manual and department-specific procedures or manuals. Operate equipment safely so that it will not lead to injury to yourself or others. Drive in accordance with the law and Grand Targhee Resort policies. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESThis job has no supervisory responsibilities. WORK SCHEDULE Due to the nature of the recreation industry, we are in operation seven days a week. This includes weekends and holidays and there is no guarantee of hours. Flexible working hours may be required based on the business levels. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Completion of eight (8) hours of continuing education is required annually. Must have knowledge of laws and legal issues involving childcare. High School diploma or a general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/ or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.QUALIFICATIONSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. These are subject to change.MATHEMATICAL SKILLSAbility to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence if needed. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.REASONING ABILITY Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
