Akkodis is recruiting for a Diagnostic Technical Author for an automotive supplier in the Allen Park, MI area. This is an onsite contract position with a pay range of $30 an hour to $36 an hour depending on education, experience and location. Location: 1555 Fairlane Circle, Allen Park, MI. 48101 Works with team lead/project manager to develop final product. Also has the ability to work directly with the client to develop final product. Develops or updates service information based on the end user needs, client specifications/expectations and the current product information. Researches product information. Utilizes various computer systems for delivery of the final product to client. Communicates with client and internal contributors to ensure the programs are within established budget and timing guidelines. Interacts with department management and support personnel for input, direction and resource acquisition. Ability to work on diverse tasks and projects with minimal guidance. Need electrical diagnostic experience for this role. Need to have Body and Powertrain diagnostics experience Dealership Diagnostic repair (Bumper to Bumper) experience is required * Dealership technicians * Collision repair experience * Spot welding * Body measurements * Hanging panels * Paint experience * At least 2 years of experience * Prior Authoring experience * Strong computer skills * Will also consider recent college graduates with some hands-on experience on vehicles * Must have automotive experience * Recall or TSB background is a plus * Primary focus on technical skills/diagnostic skills * XML Editor experience is a secondary requirement - can be trained if needed * Any experience working with XML software would be preferred * Good grammar, punctuation, and general communication skills * Must have foundational computer skills * MS Office JOB SPECIFICATIONS * High School Diploma required. Engineering Degree preferred. * State or ASE certifications preferred. * Knowledge of and ability to describe electronic and electrical fundamentals. * Knowledge of and ability to describe mechanical procedures. * Knowledge of and ability to describe flat rate labor time methods and processes. * Knowledge of and ability to describe modern automotive systems. * Knowledge of modern light truck diesel applications preferred. * Knowledge of automotive hybrid powertrains preferred. * Knowledge of PC based software and ability to type.
