DescriptionSpohn Hospital Alice was built in 1999 to serve the healthcare needs of people in Alice and the surrounding communities.The hospital is a Level IV Trauma Center and is licensed for 186 beds and offers comprehensive medical and surgical services including pediatrics, obstetrics, skilled nursing, emergency and intensive care, as well as cardiac and comprehensive services.Summary:Plans, organizes, and conducts occupational therapy programs in a variety of sensorimotor, educational, recreational, and social activities designed to help patients regain physical or mental functioning or adjust to their handicaps. Teaches patient skills and techniques required for participation in activities. Studies and evaluates patient's reactions to the program and prepares progress reports.Responsibilities:Responsible for the utilization and supervision of volunteers, students, support staff, and assistants relating to the provision of occupational therapy services.Responsible for interpretation/implementation of physician orders, provision of safe care to customers, protection of confidential information, professional communication, economic use of time/resources, and creation of a positive work/therapy environment.Performs other diverse duties as requested.Requirements:EducationGraduate of an accredited school of Occupational Therapy; Masters degree requiredKnowledgeable of the American Occupational Therapy Association Code of Ethics and the Guide to Occupational Therapy Practice.Excellent communication skillsExperienceNew graduates accepted; experience preferredLicenses, Registrations, or CertificationsCurrent license by the Texas Board of Physical Therapy & Occupational Therapy ExaminersCPR - American Heart AssociationBLSWork Schedule:8AM - 5PM Monday-FridayWork Type: Full Time
