Role Overview As a Senior Mechanical Engineer & Project Manager, you are a technical leader and strategic thinker responsible for the mechanical design, coordination, and delivery of building HVAC systems. You'll guide project teams, manage scopes and schedules, mentor engineers, and be a key client point of contact. This role is ideal for candidates who thrive in a consulting environment, enjoy autonomy, and want to take ownership of important MEP engineering decisions. What You'll Do Lead Mechanical Design & Engineering Lead full HVAC system design: air distribution, hydronics, central plants, controls, and specialty systems. Develop mechanical system concepts and basis of design documents that align with performance goals and codes. Project Delivery & Coordination Serve as technical lead and Engineer of Record where applicable. Manage mechanical scopes from schematic design through construction administration. Coordinate with plumbing, electrical, fire protection, architectural, and structural disciplines. Team Leadership Mentor and support junior engineers and designers. Provide quality control and technical guidance across project phases. Client & Construction Support Conduct site surveys, field investigations, and existing condition assessments. Prepare and review construction documents, specifications, and technical reports. Provide construction administration support (RFIs, submittals, punch walks), and commissioning oversight. Business Support Contribute to proposals, fee estimates, and technical inputs during pursuits. Required Background Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering. 7+ years of mechanical engineering experience within an MEP consulting environment. Strong HVAC system design experience across commercial or institutional buildings. Project management experience with responsibility for scope, schedule, and coordination. Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit for mechanical system design. Experience producing and reviewing fully coordinated construction documents. Strong understanding of applicable mechanical, energy, and building codes. Proven ability to collaborate across disciplines and communicate effectively with clients and project teams. High attention to technical quality, constructability, and long-term system performance. Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
