DescriptionJOB SUMMARY: This position is responsible for assisting department leadership with improving employee performance. This includes conducting assessments, preparing, developing, and presenting training, and to facilitate professional and personal excellence, enrich organizational performance, and contribute to the needs and goals of Douglas Machine Inc. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned: Steward our mission (to enrich lives by providing differentiated packaging automation and services) and values (unwavering integrity, servant's heart, ownership spirit and continuous innovation and improvement). Interface and form positive professional working relationships with assigned department leadership and employees to better understand their department's function, processes, and performance gaps. Conduct assessments on performance gaps. Assist with implementation of assessment recommendations. Work with Subject Matter Experts to research, design, develop and present training course material. Assist assigned departments in process improvement training and initiatives. Be available to train all shifts. Conduct participant feedback surveys and Returns on Investments (ROIs) after training sessions. Create, evaluate, and maintain employee training records. Manage the learning management systems and on-line content for the organization. Create and update course guide for training across the company. Collaborate on designing and implementing best practice processes for talent development. Lead training center design, maintenance and processes consistent with effective training and safety practices. Coordinate life skill and professional development courses. Lead the Service Excellence program Lead the My Career My Journey program Facilitate the train-the-trainer program and provide guidance to trainers on instructional design principles Will travel as required. Responsible for complying with all safety policies and procedures. Perform other related duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Must have an associate degree in the training field or five years related experience. Must have advanced knowledge of process improvement methods (for example: Lean Mfg, QRM, JIT, Six Sigma, etc.) and capable of assisting in implementing process improvement initiatives. Must be able to develop and conduct training programs for Douglas Machine employees. Requires excellent communication and professional relationship building skills. Must have the ability to function independently in a multi-task environment, as well as part of a team. Must have experience with Microsoft Office products and an in-depth knowledge of computer hardware, software, and the web.
