This opportunity offers a rewarding contract position as a pharmacist in a well-established community hospital with over 200 beds. The role is based in Alexandria, LA, providing hands-on experience in a dynamic clinical environment where patient care and medication safety are paramount. Responsibilities: Verify medication orders accurately and efficiently Supervise pharmacy technicians and ensure compliance with protocols Collaborate with physicians and nurses to provide expert medication consultations Apply pharmacokinetic principles to optimize patient drug therapy Utilize EPIC electronic health records and Pyxis automated dispensing systems Schedule: Four 10-hour shifts per week with rotating schedules Possible shifts include 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM, 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM, or 12:30 PM to 11:00 PM Every other weekend coverage is required The assignment lasts approximately 13 weeks with an ASAP start Desired Qualifications: Active pharmacist license in good standing BLS certification through the American Heart Association Experience with EPIC and Pyxis systems preferred Strong clinical judgment and communication skills Ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary healthcare team This contract position offers a chance to contribute significantly to patient care in a supportive hospital setting with a varied schedule to maintain work-life balance.
