Job Description:
New York League of Conservation Voters (NYLCV) is a statewide environmental organization in New York that fights for clean water, clean air, renewable energy and open space through political action. NYLCV volunteers play a critical role in the organization, contributing to all projects -no matter the size. Their work allows NYLCV to further its mission of educating and engaging people across New York on behalf of the environment. The policy team at NYLCV is looking for a motivated and energized volunteer for it Albany office interested in helping to advance the League’s policy agenda at the state capitol during the legislative session. Flexible schedule for students. Responsibilities could include: Scheduling and attending lobbying meetings with legislators Drafting advocacy documents such as legislative memos and fact sheets Sharing NYLCV’s position on bills and information on legislative scorecard with legislators and their staff Supporting volunteer coordination efforts, including call days and event staffing Qualifications could include: Strong interest in environmental issues Excellent communication skills Highly organized and detail-oriented Experience with social media, Google Suite, and data management Previous experience in community organizing, environmental advocacy, or voter outreach Location: Albany, NY
