We are seeking an experienced Lead Applied Scientist, ideally with a PhD, to drive innovation in AI agents for enterprise analytics, concentrating on planning, multi-step reasoning, and implementing tool-augmented solutions with large language models across various unstructured data sources, including documents, logs, and emails. Your Key Responsibilities: Develop comprehensive agentic systems: set clear goals, create planners, controllers, and executors, and ensure effective orchestration of tools for seamless execution. Enhance our planning and reasoning capabilities: apply hierarchical planning, self-reflection techniques, and chain-of-thought strategies to boost reliability and precision. Ground large language models in unstructured data: create robust retrieval mechanisms and indexing solutions for diverse data formats. Ensure safety, privacy, and compliance: implement robust safety policies, manage tool access, and align governance with enterprise standards. Deploy agentic solutions: collaborate with platform teams, manage agent workflows, and carry out thorough evaluations of planning services. Stay informed on the latest research developments and mentor team members, promoting a culture of scientific rigor and meaningful innovation. Minimum Qualifications: PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Statistics, Electrical Engineering, or related fields, focusing on LLMs, planning, reasoning, or autonomous systems. Experience in building and deploying ML/LLM systems, particularly in scalable agentic workflows. Proven expertise in multi-step planning and structured reasoning methodologies. Strong skills in retrieving and processing unstructured data. Proficiency in Python and machine learning frameworks such as PyTorch or JAX. Published research in top-tier conferences, including NeurIPS, ICML, or equivalent impactful contributions in production settings. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in designing evaluation pipelines for agents and understanding of feedback mechanisms. Knowledge of decision-making methods and statistical evaluation techniques for online experiments. Familiarity with efficiency optimization techniques in LLMs. Expertise in safety management and compliance strategies for AI systems. Strong collaboration skills and the ability to communicate complex concepts effectively to diverse stakeholders.
