Job Opening: Design Practice Leader CDM Smith is excited to welcome a Design Practice Leader to our Digital Engineering Solutions team. This pivotal role is essential for advancing our digital transformation journey by strategically implementing cutting-edge digital design tools, technologies, and processes. You will be at the forefront of driving digital enablement programs that enhance design workflows within our architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) disciplines. In this role, you will: Lead the Design Practice group, advancing initiatives that align with our broader digital strategies. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the smooth integration of technologies, fostering strong communication with stakeholders to drive success. Promote the use of Autodesk, Bentley, and other design applications, developing standards, workflows, and best practices. Mentor and develop a team of design practice specialists, inspiring them to reach their full potential. Initiate and maintain documented standards for AEC digital tools aligned with our digital strategy. Engage in continuous learning to stay abreast of the latest technologies and processes. Prepare and present technical ideas in a clear and accessible manner to both internal and external audiences. The ideal candidate will possess: A bachelor’s degree and 10 years of related experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership capacity. Experience with Civil 3D, corridor modeling, and grading for transportation infrastructure projects. Proficiency in Bentley tools such as OpenRoads Designer and MicroStation. Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
