Position Type: Student Support Services Date Posted: 4/9/2026 Location: Albany High Complex Additional Information: Show/Hide POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT April 9, 2026 POSITION: Educational Diagnostician LOCATION: Albany High Complex JOB SUMMARY: The Educational Diagnostician supports Psychological Services by assisting in the assessment and evaluation of students with learning and/or behavioral concerns. This role involves conducting assessments, gathering and analyzing data, and collaborating with school psychologists, teachers, and parents to support student success. The Diagnostician contributes to informed decision-making by providing accurate, timely, and comprehensive evaluation data. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: * Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field; * Valid state certification as an educator; * Experience working with children in an educational or related setting; * Ability to assist with student assessments and evaluations. SKILLS AND ABILITIES: * Knowledge of basic assessment tools and data collection methods; * Ability to follow testing protocols and scoring procedures accurately; * Strong organizational and time management skills; * Effective written and verbal communication skills; * Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information; * Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams; * Basic understanding of child development and learning differences. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: * Receive student referrals from the school psychologist and conduct requested evaluations; * Administer, score, and organize assessment data in a timely manner; * Conduct classroom observations as requested; * Collect rating scales and input from teachers and parents; * Communicate with stakeholders as directed by the school psychologist; * Compile and provide all assessment, observation, and interview data to the school psychologist; * Assist with hearing and vision screenings as needed; * Prepare developmental assessment reports for preschool-aged children; * Maintain accurate and confidential student records; * Perform other duties as assigned. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENT: * Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the classroom for extended periods of time; * Ability to occasionally lift or move instructional materials and classroom supplies (up to approximately 25 pounds); * Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and assist young students as needed; * Work is performed primarily in a classroom environment with moderate noise levels typical of a school setting; * Requires frequent interaction with students, staff, and families throughout the school day. REPORTS TO: Exceptional Students Program Director SALARY RANGE: 11 Month Contract. Competitive salary and excellent benefits package in accordance with the DCSS Compensation Guide.
