Job Description:
About DoorvestDoorvest helps investors build a real estate empire without the real estate hassle. We're the platform to buy, manage, and sell income-generating rental properties end-to-end. Our marketplace, where homeowners trade investment properties directly with each other, is at the heart of how customers grow their portfolios. We're rolling up the country's fragmented residential property management industry, growing our customer base more than 6x in less than a year. Most of these homeowners will buy another property over time. Many will sell one. The marketplace is where we get to be there for both.About the RoleWe're looking for the founding operator of Doorvest's marketplace: someone who can close deals personally and run both sides of every transaction. You'll report directly to the GM of Platform and shape how the marketplace works as our customer base scales 6x and beyond. This is an in-person role in our San Francisco office. This isn't a traditional sales role and it isn't a traditional marketplace ops role. The audience is unique: our buyers and sellers come from the same pool of homeowners, cycling between sides as their portfolios grow. You'll own those relationships over time, matching buyers to sellers,We use AI and automation heavily. A lot of what would normally be manual marketplace work, like buyer outreach, diligence, content generation, and internal tooling, runs on systems we've built. The Marketplace Lead spends time on the parts that need a human: deals, conversations, and judgment calls. We move fast, get to conviction quickly, take swings, and assess results in a data-driven way. You'll start by personally running deals and supporting the GM of Platform on day-to-day operations, with the goal of running it on your own as the customer base grows. This role has three main areas of focusSeller ConciergeYou'll find homeowners thinking about selling and walk them to a live listing. That means pricing strategy, listing prep, transaction coaching, and post-close relationship. Sellers, especially first-timers, are nervous. Your job is to coach them through the process honestly, even when that means telling them a deal isn't right.Buyer MatchmakerYou'll qualify interested buyers, help them clarify what they're after, and walk them to a written bid. Our marketplace works because the same homeowners cycle between buying and selling, so you'll also watch what's happening across the audience and make the intros that turn passive interest into active deals.BuilderYou use AI tools (Claude, Cursor, Lovable, n8n, or similar) to automate parts of your workflow and handle your own routine work without waiting on engineering. You don't need to be a software engineer, but you reach for tools before asking someone else to build them.ResponsibilitiesMove sellers from interest to a live listing: pricing, prep, listing approachMove buyers from interest to a written bid: qualification, fit, pricing guidanceMake introductions across the audience between buyers and sellersStay on transactions as the relationship owner; the transaction coordinator handles escrow, lender, and titleStay in touch with homeowners as they cycle between buyer and seller over timeWork directly with engineering on what we build next: spec features, run demos, prioritize backlogUse AI tools daily to handle your own routine workRun the weekly marketplace operating cadence: LOIs in pipeline, conversion, closesYou Might Be a Great Fit If You...Have 3-7 years of experience in real estate operations, investor sales, marketplace ops, or a hybrid.
