Description This position is primarily responsible to provide and facilitate the creation and maintenance of accurate and complete physical addresses for all residents and businesses in Aiken County. This is critical to the effective operation of law enforcement, emergency medical services, County operations, mail deliveries, and the traveling public. Must be able to balance public safety and customer satisfaction, and requires good judgment, sensitivity and well-developed communication skills. Ability to work with limited supervision and reviews any complex or dangerous addressing issues with the manager. Examples of Duties JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Information Management - This position assigns, reviews, corrects, and maintains 911 address point in the County GIS database in compliance with State and County law, and the departmental guidelines. This also includes updating the Master Street Address Guide to synchronize with Aiken County GIS data for all streets and addresses, including both incorporated and unincorporated jurisdictions. 2. Subject Matter Expertise - This position conducts quality control and assurance of the workflow completed by other Addressing Technicians, and as such, should be able to demonstrate and communicate the varying skills needed to effectively complete all addressing tasks. When necessary, the incumbent may provide critical input in the creation of new or different workflows to ensure efficiency and effectiveness of product outcome, and maintains documentation of department processes to ensure completeness and accuracy. The incumbent will train new technicians on procedures and best practices. 3. Street Naming Process - This position executes the Aiken County process for naming streets. This involves fieldwork from time to time to ensure accuracy. The incumbent will interact with the general public and other County departments in this process, and in the preparation of resolution for County Council's consideration of such street namings. 4. Public Outreach - This position participates in periodic presentations to educate the public about the Smart911 public safety program. 5. Ongoing Training - This position is required to maintain and expand professional skills through ongoing technical training. This job has specific physical requirements such as lifting, driving, ability to travel, etc. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. Typical Qualifications REQUIRED EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND AND JOB-RELATED EXPERIENCE: Minimum Level of Job-Related Education: BS in a related field; 3 years in a similar customer service environment Minimum Amount of Job-Related Experience: 2 years with Esri GIS software suite; Microsoft Office suite Minimum Level of any Required Qualifications, Licenses, Certificates, Registrations, or any Relevant Knowledge, Job Skill or Equivalent Experience: valid driver's license
