Logistics Specialist

Position SummaryWe are seeking a dependable and organized Transportation Coordinator to support day-to-day freight operations and carrier management. This role is responsible for tracking shipments, ensuring on-time delivery, obtaining proof of delivery (PODs), and maintaining strong communication with both internal teams and third-party carriers. The ideal candidate brings hands-on transportation experience, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.Key ResponsibilitiesTrack and trace all outbound shipments to ensure timely pickups and deliveriesCommunicate daily with carriers, brokers, and warehouse teams to confirm status and resolve delivery issuesObtain and verify Proof of Delivery (PODs) and update internal systems accordinglyMonitor and report on carrier performance and on-time delivery metricsCoordinate with third-party logistics providers (3PLs) and outsourced carriers for freight appointmentsTroubleshoot transportation delays, accessorial charges, and service failuresMaintain shipment records and assist with freight billing or claims when neededCollaborate with other departments to ensure smooth transportation operations and customer satisfactionQualifications3-5 years of experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chainStrong knowledge of transportation processes, including track & trace and POD documentationExperience with Transportation Management Systems (TMS), ERP software, and carrier portalsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsStrong organizational skills and attention to detailAbility to work independently or team setting, prioritize tasks, and adapt to shifting prioritiesKnowledge of routing, scheduling, and transportation modesProficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, SAP, and general reporting toolsPreferred SkillsExperience with LTL/FTL/EXPEDITED/AIR FREIGHT shipments and working directly with carriers or 3PLsUnderstanding of freight terms, documentation, and basic complianceAbility to analyze and report on logistics KPIs to support operational efficiency and vendor performanceTeam-oriented with collaborative mindset
