ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS * Conducts inspections before and during trips to ensure safe working conditions of the tractor (truck) and trailer. * Communicates all maintenance problems to the fleet mechanic and management. * Responsible for maintaining, cleanliness, appearance, and the safe operation of all Commercial Delivery vehicles on a daily and weekly basis. * Must be 21 years old (* Any other task or duty as assigned or required. REQUIRED SKILLS * Must be able to read, write and speak the English language. * Must meet the Department of Transportation DOT and Company mental and physical requirements. * Must be physically and mentally able to safely perform the essential functions without obvious risk of injury to the employee, co-workers and general public. * Must have a Class B or C CDL with active emphasis on obtaining Class A CDL with appropriate endorsements from the state where you reside. Timeframe to be discussed during interview. * Must have at minimum 2 years CDL with Interstate Commerce experience. EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS * High School Diploma or equivalent PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT * Exposure to all types of temperatures. * Physical ability to do work requiring frequent stooping, bending, lifting and reaching overhead. * Physical strength sufficient to move parts and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds. * Sufficient manual dexterity required to perform job properly. * High degree of care required to operate in a safe manner. * Appropriate safety equipment is necessary. * Overtime hours may be required. * Requires morning, afternoon, and evening availability any day of the week. Occasional overnight deliveries. * There may be regular exposure to mild discomfort from factors such as dust, fumes, odors, temperature extremes, loud noise, strong drafts and bright lights.
