Registered Nurse II Apply now Job no: 492556 Work type: Full-Time Location: Administration - Orangeburg, SC Categories: Staff Brooks Health Center located on the beautiful campus of SC State University is seeking to hire a Registered Nurse II. The selected candidate will provide direct care, education, counseling, and coordinating on/off campus services for our targeted population. Supervises and instructs paraprofessional clinical/administrative support staff. Duties and Responsibilities: ➢ Perform and document quality and appropriate health assessment and nursing care to students and the university community. ➢ Provide age-appropriate health education and counseling to students (young adults and non-traditional), individually and in a group setting. ➢ Perform and interpret basic laboratory tests, e.g. urinalysis, blood sugar, pregnancy, and other CLIA waive tests, and participate in proficiency program. ➢ Work with inter/intra agency resources to provide continuity of care/service. Provide appropriate follow-up as indicated. ➢ Work with support staff to carry out established procedures and policies. ➢ Discusses patient's progress and needs with physicians, and staff; assists them with examinations and treatment. ➢ Promotes health and wellness for the prevention and reduction/control of diseases and health problems. ➢ Assist with program planning, development of policies and procedures, ➢ Plan, implement and evaluate students' care plans. ➢ Communicate and collaborate with others ➢ Maintain and ensure inventory of appropriate medications, and supplies are readily available ➢ Maintain student confidentiality Minimum Requirements: Must have licensure as a Registered Nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing. Experience in medical/surgical nursing, community, public, and clinical settings is strongly encouraged. Preferred Requirements: Experience in a Higher Education setting.
