Job Description:

The Housing Authority of the City of Merkel Maintenance Mechanic B SCOPE: The Maintenance Mechanic will be responsible for general maintenance in Public Housing units, buildings. Performs general plumbing, electrical and carpentry repairs, lawn care, and other duties as assigned. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: include, but are not limited to: Assisting with Office Maintenance Maintaining Lawns (mowing, edging) and maintain equipment Repair/replace appliances, such as refrigerators and stoves, assist in connecting electrical or gas stove lines Perform repairs to damaged walls, doors, floors, etc. Respond to On-Call emergencies Conduct inspections and assist with preparations for HUD inspections. Attend required trainings. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High School Graduate or GED minimum requirement. Knowledge of general maintenance. Ability to work indoors and outdoors. Good verbal, communication and written skills. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: One (1) year of work experience in general maintenance.
