Overview Job Summary: Come join Pennex Aluminum in Wellsville, PA as a nightshift Forklift Operator. As a key team member you will safely and efficiently transport materials using the forklift, which is a powered industrial truck equipped with forks or a platform for lifting and carrying heavy objects. This position is 12h, from 7 PM-7 AM. Responsibilities Essential Duties and Responsibilities: * Moves levers and presses pedals to drive truck and control movement of lifting apparatus. * Positions forks, lifting platform, or other lifting device under, over, or around loaded pallets, skids, boxes, extrusions, or logs and transports load to designated area. * Unloads and stacks material by raising and lowering lifting device. * Loads and unloads trucks as required. * Empties trash containers as needed. * Places empty baskets on wheels for saw crews. * Empties scrap hoppers, separating alloy 6061 from 6063 as directed. * Loads and unloads heat treat ovens and moves metal to next department or area. * Follows proper procedures, starts Age Ovens selecting proper cycles. Completes documentation and charts as required. * Monitors Age Cycles periodically to assure proper operation. * Insures forklift is maintained in a safe working order. Reports defects or problems to shift supervisor. Completes preventive maintenance and corresponding paperwork as directed. * Replaces propane bottle refueling forklift as required. Places empty bottle in proper storage area. * Assists with maintaining a neat and orderly plant, insuring aisleways are kept clear. Performs general housekeeping duties as directed. Qualifications Ideal Candidate Will Have: Education and/or Experience * High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and or one or more years' experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Other Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities * Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals * Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's * Ability to perform these operations using units of American weight measurement, volume, and distance * Must attend and pass Forklift Operators Safety course * Must possess a valid Forklift License.
