Position Description Job Summary Job Duties and Responsibilities: * Safely operate a forklift. * Loading and Unloading Material (flatbed trailers, 53' vans, rail cars, and containers) from a dock and outdoor yard during all seasons and weather conditions * Read and understand what product(s) to select, how to load and unload trucks based on pick documents and bills of lading * Cycle count inventory weekly or as required * Follows the Logistics Standard Operating Procedures Support and Maintain Warehouse stock location system and code dates to ensure proper inventory turns and adherence to FIFO principles. * Provides high-level Service to Customers and Transportation providers * Ability to safely lift, carry and stack up to 100lb. roll or bundle of roofing material * General housekeeping and all other related tasks as assigned Safety & Health Follow the CertainTeed Health and Safety Rules, ensure safe operating conditions within the Shipping/Warehouse, and notify co-workers and supervisors of hazardous acts and conditions. Proper use of PPE at all times. Maintain a clean and safe working environment in line with the 5S philosophy. Facilitate and/or participate in safety training and safety committee meetings. Quality Assurance and Process Control: Support a zero-defect system through process control, to minimize non-quality related costs and to improve customer satisfaction. This requires defect-free work and an understanding of the requirements of the company's quality system as it pertains to job duties and responsibilities. Must be able to check work to ensure conformance to instructions, specifications, and quality standards are met. Identify and segregate non-conforming products. Identify the need for and assist in initiating and implementing corrective and preventative actions when appropriate. Initiative: * Actively participates in continuous improvement of products and processes to better serve customers and improve the overall profitability of CertainTeed. * Actively seek out work in other areas when the current assignment is complete. * Make suggestions for improving safety, product quality, processes, and company profitability. Flexibility * Must be flexible in taking lunch and breaks when workflow requires. * Willing to work additional hours as necessary. Work Environment: * Outside conditions communicating with warehouse personnel, conducting inventory and shipping activities. Required Qualifications Qualifications & Skills: * 2 Years of Forklift Operating Experience * Good working knowledge of Warehouse/Shipping policies, and procedures. * Good oral communication skills * Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment * Able to support disaster recovery plans to ensure customers receive uninterrupted service during times of crisis. * Excellent Attendance Practices Required * Ability to deal calmly and effectively with high-stress situations, sensitivity to other's needs and maintain a positive demeanor.
