Position: Web Software Developer - IntermediateWork Location: Rock Island, ILJob SummaryThe candidate will work within a cohesive web development team to design, develop, create, and modify web applications or specialized utility programs. The candidate will analyze user needs and develop software solutions. The candidate will design software or customize software for client use with the aim of optimizing operational efficiency. He/she may analyze and design databases within an application area, working individually or coordinating database development as part of a team.Responsibilities: (Not listed in order of importance; other duties may be assigned):Designs, codes, tests, debugs and documents programs. Competent to work at the highest technical level of all phases of applications programming activities.Provides full lifecycle application development.Designs, codes and debugs applications in various software languages.Performs software analysis, code analysis, requirements analysis, software review, identification of code metrics, system risk analysis, and software reliability analysis.Modifies existing software to correct errors, allow it to adapt to new hardware, or to improve its performance.Designs and develops front end graphical user interface.Performs software testing, and quality assurance.Supports, maintains, and documents software tegrates software into existing systems.Evaluates and identifies new technologies for implementation.Works with others on the team to provide technical guidance during all phases of the development process and coordinate with vendors in evaluating and implementing new technologies.Qualifications3-8 Years demonstrated/practical hands-on experience as a web application developer with a deep understanding of software design and programming principles. Proven experience as a web application developer with knowledge of the .Net environment, Visual Studio. Must be familiar with a variety of operating systems and platforms and have experience in designing and building applications. In-depth knowledge of programming for diverse operating systems and platforms using development C# (with Visual Studio and TFS) - 5 years minimum experience preferredMicrosoft TSQL & SQL Management Studio - 5 years minimum experience preferredHTML/CSS/JavaScript - 3 years minimum experience preferredMicrosoft Internet Information Server 8 or higher - 1 year minimum experience preferredBasic knowledge of Windows client and server OS's & basic file system understanding MVC experience is a plus but not requiredNet experience is a plus but not requiredBachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline. Relevant work experience and training may be considered in lieu of a degree, like Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) Crediting Combinations of Education and Experience standardEmployee must possess and maintain IA computing environment certifications and access levels in accordance with DoD Directives (DoDD) 8140/8570.01-M and BBP 05-PR-M-0002Candidate must have solid knowledge of information security principles and practices, as well as an understanding of security protocols and standardsPhysical RequirementsWork may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time. Position may require typing and reading from a computer screen. Must have sufficient mobility, including but not limited to bending, reaching, and kneeling to complete daily duties in a timely and efficient manner.
