Carillon Senior Living is recruiting a hospitality-focused LPN to join our team! This position provides direct nursing care to residents and delegates and supervises the care provided by our Quality of Life Specialists/Resident Assistants. Principal Duties: * Accurately and precisely administers medications/treatment and documents all medications in accordance with department procedures and expected practices.
* Informs physician, nurse manager, or responsible party/family of changes in resident's condition or incidents when appropriate.
* Ensures each resident's Care Plan is followed to meet the residents' needs and state requirements.
* Supervises and assists assigned Certified Nurse Aides and other nursing staff, delegating assignments and ensuring completion.
* Makes walking rounds with departing nurse and frequently throughout shift including visual and physical assessments, controlled drug counts, and thorough and complete report.
* Performs specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
* Ensures all transfer, discharge, and admission information is complete according to policy and practice.
* Completes all duties on shift task sheet, monthly summaries, and quarterly assessments. Knowledge and Ability: * Must have effective communication skills, both oral and written.
* Utilizes the nursing process to deliver nursing care to an individual or group of residents and accepts assigned responsibilities as an accountable member of the Carillon team.
* Work as team and assist all other department members when needed.
* Be able to work cooperatively with other healthcare professionals and other departments within the system.
* Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists and to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in writing, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
* Must communicate with internal and external contacts in a professional manner.
* Show the ability to demonstrate initiative by actively seeking additional duties, as well as accepting and performing all other duties as assigned.
* Have the ability to maintain a professional relationship with physicians, patients, visitors, and staff by demonstrating appropriate interpersonal skills and demeanor.
* Possesses knowledge of and implements infection control and universal precaution practices. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE * Graduate of an accredited school of vocational nursing.
* Maintains a current license with the Texas State Board of Nurse Examiners for Vocational Nursing.
* Have a current card for the successful completion of Basic Cardiac Life Support (CPR - Healthcare Provider).
