Position SummaryEngineer II - Environmental is responsible using the principles of engineering, soil science, biology, and chemistry to develop solutions to environmental problems. Ability to improve recycling, waste disposal, public health, and water and air pollution control while addressing global issues, such as unsafe drinking water, climate change, and environmental sustainability.Supervisor ResponsibilitiesThis position does not have supervisory responsibilities over other employees.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesMonitoring - Water wells, Ponds, Method 9, WYPDES, Impoundments, Air quality (TEOM's & MET stations), Storm Water.Reclamation activities - Overburden sampling, topsoil compliance and disking, reclamation tracking and reporting, bond release and tracking.Waste Management - Reporting and tracking recycled waste, SPCC plan maintenance.Project Engineering - Design and construction management of drainage and road projectsProvide information and answers to staff, management, and mining operations.Provide MSHA/State Mine Inspectors an annual MSHA sediment pond report.Provide information and answers to business partners and regulatory agencies.Responsible for expenditures on projects and work contracts for reclamation work.Perform related work as required.Typical Physical DemandsRequires prolonged sitting, some bending, stooping and stretching.Requires constant data input for extended periods of time without leaving the work area. Occasionally lifting files or paper weighing up to 30 pounds. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator, and other office equipment. Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare, and communicate appropriate reports. Requires mobility sufficient to travel.Typical Working ConditionsNormal office environment.
