Title: Licensed Practical Nurse Part time State Role Title: 49111 Hiring Range: $28.75/hour plus shift differentials Pay Band: 3 Agency: Dept Behavioral Health/Develop Location: Comm Ctr for Child & Adoles Agency Website: Recruitment Type: General Public - G Job Duties The Commonwealth Center for Children and Adolescents is currently seeking fresh graduates and experienced individuals as part-time Licensed Practical Nurse professionals on 2nd shift to help our PCP clinics on Monday and Wednesday from 3p - 9p. The LPN provides quality nursing care to our pediatric psychiatric patients based on standards of nursing practice and care within the scope of license. Performs skilled patient centered nursing care to individual and groups of patients with complex mental and physical illnesses under the general supervision of a registered nurse. Provides a variety of patient care such as administering medication and treatments, maintaining patient records, promoting health and wellness education, and communicating for continuity of patient care. Ability to communicate effectively to convey necessary information. Ability to observe gauges, dials or other indicator to make sure equipment is working properly. Paid Shift Differential on 2nd shift $3.50/hr. Minimum Qualifications * Current, Virginia license to practice as a LPN or license eligible; multi-state compact endorsement is accepted. * Knowledge of illness and treatment modalities to include medication administration. * Ability to implement nursing care plan and provide guidance to other staff. * Ability to delegate and supervise nursing staff. Effective communication (written, verbal and sign). * Ability to participate in interdisciplinary team. Ability to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care. * Ability to work overtime due to staffing emergencies in a 24 hour 7 day per week psychiatric hospital which at times may mean working a 16-hour shift if and when necessary. * Complete all annual competency training to include TOVA III with physical restraints * Complete and maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers with the American Heart Association * Demonstrates knowledge of recovery/trauma informed care.
